I figure that owning a Savage is like owning the old VW Bettle of the cruiser world. I can handle it (potential jokes and all) .
I can also appreciate the quality aspects of the HDs. But they have done some design changes to the low end Sportster over the past year that have changed them from their 'chopped' look and feel. I swear I checked a bike out before I bought my Savage (10/98) that felt like it was for me.
By the way, I definitely don't have any personal ill will to Harley riders in the least. I really don't want you to have that impression.
What gets me going is the cost. I am equally set off by the cost of SUVs (>$25 and going). I have gone through living beyond my means and I don't want to go there again. Most SUV can cost more than half the price of my house. I really don't understand how so many people afford them (actually I do understand.. people decide that they want to afford them ( the same way I decide to be able to afford a new Savage rather than shopping for a good used one) ).
